Wilted Lettuce Salad

Wash, dry, and break up some lettuce. Boil together ¼ cup oil and ¼ cup vinegar.
Remove from heat and stir in 2 teaspoons of sugar. Pour the very hot liquid over the lettuce. Toss. Serve.

Variations: You can add chopped garlic or scallions, or bacon, or basil, etc…
